Meaty, sloppy, freshly made patties, and sublime sauces, with hot, crispy French fries on the side, burgers have rarely looked as good as they do at The Burger House. Before I truly delve into their burgers, I must take a moment to talk about their breakfast options, every bit as scrumptious as their burgers. Start off with their Poached Eggs served on a Bed of Hummus with a sprinkle of chilli, sesame seeds and a side of flatbread. The Eggs Benedict too are perfectly made and this is a delightful preparation of English muffins with flavourful smoked ham or salmon, perfectly poached eggs, paired with arugula and homemade hollandaise. For a bit of Goa on your plate, try their Chorizo Omelette, a sublime melange of jalapeno, corn cheese and chorizo.
If you think your day needs a leafier (but perfectly delicious) start, go for the Arugula and Wine Poached Pear Salad, a wholesome offering of walnut with crumbled feta and a drizzle of raspberry vinaigrette.
I think everybody’s day could do with some cheesy goodness and that’s exactly what the Mac N Cheese is- macaroni cooked in rich, creamy white sauce with a crust of parmesan cheese.
Before lauding the burgers, a moment must be taken to speak about the space itself, which can only be described as an enchanting rustic chic. A beautiful canopy of twisted vines entwined with fairy lights greets you at the entrance. Hang out in the indoors section; they’re well-stocked with a variety of board games which will keep you occupied!
And now for the star performers, the burgers. Clints Almost Famous Veggie Burger with its mushroom, avocado and kidney bean patty is certain to be a trendsetter in the realm of veggie burgers. The meat burgers are outstanding. The Chicken Diablo, one of their signature burgers is layered with fire roasted jalapenos and a breast of pulled chicken. The caramelised onions and oodles of pepper jack cheese and chipotle mayonnaise make every bite magical. You can never go wrong with lamb infused with Indian flavours and the Indian Lamb Shank Redemption is proof of this. Tender pulled minced lamb and fragrant Indian spices, topped with cheddar, onion, tomato and mayonnaise, this is one whopper that will have you going back for more. Throw together some crispy bacon, pork patty, mayonnaise and caramelised onions and you have The Ultimate Bacon Burger- deliciousness in every morsel!
The Burger House has also concocted a thoroughly inventive cocktail menu. The TBH Mai Tai brings you a Goan flavour, and is a mixture of coconut feni, almond liqueur, bitters, pineapple puree, wild berries jam and lime. The Michelada is a quirky take on the classic Bloody Mary and is surprisingly light, being a blend of lager beer, chilli, salt and tomato juice. The marvellously refreshing Watermelon and Basil Slushy is perfect for teetotallers and is a concoction of watermelon, lime cordial with basil for that minty freshness.
This brainchild of Shivam Bhaskar and Ashwin Khalap delivers on every front and can be rivalled by few burger joints in Goa!
This Saturday (21st December), they’re whizzing to the past with their That 70’s Drunch! With gourmet burgers, retro tunes and curated concoctions for company, weekends have never looked merrier. Take a gander at their Drunch menu, it’s quite the culinary fiesta all for Rs. 1,500 plus taxes!
